SEASON ONE – THE STUDY OF QUIET THINGS

Small Village Horrors

CHAPTER TWO

The one where the villagers refuse to talk

Nobody wants to talk about it.

So here I am, blogging into the void.

Either nobody cares or they are too scared to admit the truth. And the truth is there is something happening in this small nowhere village. Something strange, something sinister. Something, I don’t know…

Honestly? I can’t remember when I first noticed. It kind of crept into my mind and veins slowly, like poison, and now it’s all I see. All I feel. All there is.

It’s darkness, like a heavy cloud of something pressing down on the outside and swelling up from within all at the same time. It’s unbearable. The weird thing is, I think I recognise it in others, in the way they look at me, the hollow behind their eyes.

School has become some sort of funeral wake. Nobody has really recovered from what happened here two years ago. Not that anyone was ever happy in a shitty little excuse for a school before, but now, there’s something else beneath the gloom and suppression of the small-town consciousness.

Before, there was hopelessness. Now, there is only silent despair.

And nobody will talk about it.

What is going on?

What the fuck is going on?
